The accessory for ALL musicians.
Performance Wristies® were designed to keep hands and fingers warm by heating the lower arm, wrist, and lower hand. Heating these areas provides warmer blood to run through the players fingers thus keeping the hand and fingers at a more safe, pleasant, and dexterous temperature.
Keeps hands and fingers warm for outdoor/cold environment playing
Improves circulation to avoid and help protect injuries
Provides total dexterity through its 360 degree "free finger" design
Removes moisture from the hands through "moisture wicking"
On a cold and snowy winter’s day, 10 year old KK Gregory was out building a snow fort when her wrists started to hurt because they were cold and wet. She remedied the problem by creating the first pair of Wristies, wearing them under her coat and mittens.
She tried out her novel and unique creation on her scout troop who encouraged her to make more. Further encouraged by her mom and dad to see herself as an inventor, KK applied for a patent, trademarked the name Wristies, and in 1994, started her company!
Wristies are taking the world by storm (excuse the pun) with people wearing the glove for all sorts of reasons, including as a fingerless glove! They were being used for all sorts of outdoor activities, in cold offices for typing/computer work, or even walking your dog!
In 2010 KK grew to appreciate how musicians could really benefit from her invention so she attended the NAMM conference in Nashville Tennessee. There she met and teamed up with Dave Chiappetta, owner of ToneGear, and they set out to create and bring to market a Wristies designed specifically for musicians. 6 months later “Performance” Wristies were born. ToneGear then proudly released these at Winter NAMM 2011 where they won the award for “Best Tool for School”.
